Jon Barrilleaux (Principal)
Jon has extensive experience in commercial and government software
development, project management, and R&D. Areas of expertise include
systems development using UML and OO techniques, 3D graphics and
user interfaces, virtual and augmented reality, simulation and
training, game infrastructure, and e-commerce and web applications.
His book,
"3D User Interfaces with Java 3D" focuses on the application
of 3D user interface techniques in many of these technology areas.
He served as Principal
Investigator for all of our SBIR proposals and
contracts. He was a founding member of three startup
companies, a principal investigator for several
large development efforts, and an architect and manager for many
web-based, e-commerce, and government-related R&D projects.
With a multi-discipline background, practical
experience, and an innovative spirit, Jon has been successful at
developing solutions using cutting edge
technologies such as Augmented Reality,
3D user interfaces, and Java 3D.
Jon is a graduate of Rice University with a BS and MS in Electrical
Engineering.
Michelle Gabriel (Principal)
Michelle has more than 15 years of operations management experience with
technology-based companies. She has a wide range of experience in
supply-chain management and operations from a variety of industries including
semiconductors, electronics, aerospace, industrial and telecommunications. She
has broad experiences in product and manufacturing engineering, production and
materials management, business process re-engineering, and project management.
Most recently, Michelle was engaged by the consulting firm of PRTM to act as
an interim Materials Manager for a rapidly growing startup in the field of
fiber optics.
Prior to joining PRTM, Michelle was Technical Director of Operations at
NorthPoint Communications, a fast growing DSL provider. Here she worked on
organizational design, structure, and work flow for the Provisioning process.
Previously, Michelle was Director of Operations at Ion Systems where she
managed the manufacturing and materials organizations in their transition from
batch processing to demand flow for semiconductor and clean room products.
Before joining Ion Systems, Michelle was Vice President of Operations at Powis
Parker , a manufacturer of high end document binding equipment and
consumables. In addition, Michelle has held a variety of positions at
Compression Labs, United Airlines, Avantek, and Motorola including Production
Manager, Product Marketing Engineer, and Product Engineer. At Motorola,
Michelle was a member of the Engineering Rotation Program.
Michelle is a graduate of M.I.T. with a BS in Materials Science and
Engineering and an MS in Metallury. She also received an MBA from the UC
Berkeley Haas School of business, where she concentrated in the Management of
Technology Program.
